Black and gold is the palette for a party that is not admitting to being a birthday: a New Year dinner, an anniversary, a launch, a fortieth held in a restaurant. It is the only combination on this shelf that carries a table without a single balloon in the room.
Twenty-four dessert plates to a pack. Black is the hardest color to buy in party goods because a thin black plate looks flimsy under a light and a good one does not, so this is a case where the photograph matters more than usual.
Three Black and Gold pieces sit here now: these, a 9-inch plate pack and a 16-count napkin printed for a fiftieth. The napkin pack is small, so a party past eight guests needs plain black or gold from the color shelf alongside it.
On the table
- Twenty-four dessert plates per pack.
- Three Black and Gold pieces here: two plate sizes and a 50th napkin.
- Finish the table with plain black from the color shelf.
- The one palette here that carries a room without balloons.
