Hot magenta is past candy pink and into fuchsia: a pink with blue in it, closer to a highlighter than to a rose. It is the shade of a teen birthday, a quinceañera, a bachelorette table or a dance-themed party, and it does not do subtle in any lighting.
It pairs well with the two shades people usually reach for beside it. With black it is a nightclub palette; with fresh lime or sunkissed orange it is a tropical one. With ivory it looks accidental, which is the combination to avoid.
Three 54-by-108-inch covers to a pack. Hot magenta is one of the best-covered shades on this shelf — there is a plastic cover, an Octy Round, a fork pack and a 24-guest party kit in the same color.
