A magenta plastic cover is a party-table decision rather than a dining-table one. This is the shade for a teen birthday or a bachelorette, and those are exactly the events where drinks get put down carelessly and a paper cover ends the night in patches.
The 54-by-108-inch rectangle is the same footprint as the paper cover: about a foot of drop on each long side of a six-foot banquet table. Plastic holds a crease from the packet longer than paper does, so unfold it an hour early and let the weight of it settle.
Three covers to a pack. Hot magenta is the best-supplied shade on this shelf, with paper and plastic rectangles, an Octy Round, a fork pack and a 24-guest party kit.
