Hunter green is the darkest green in the catalog and behaves less like a color than like a second neutral. Paired with ivory it is a Christmas table without a single printed holly leaf; paired with gold it is a formal dinner; on its own under a row of white candles it is a woodland or a golf-club evening.
Depth is the practical argument for it. A dark cover under buffet lighting shows less of the shine and fewer of the creases that a mid-tone cover shows, so a table dressed in hunter green looks tidier at hour three than the same table in fresh lime.
Three covers, 54 by 108 inches each. Hunter green also runs to a fork pack, an Octy Round cover and a full party kit on this shelf, so the shade can be carried across a whole table without mixing brands.
