Navy plastic is the workhorse of a milestone party. It hides everything a dark cover hides, it wipes rather than soaks, and it sits under the gold pieces that run through this catalog’s adult birthday shelf without a shade mismatch.
One thing plastic does that paper does not is shine. A dark plastic cover under a flash or a bright overhead light reflects a hard highlight, which is visible in photographs and looks careless. If the table is going to be photographed, break the surface with a runner, a set of plates and a centerpiece rather than leaving a bare expanse.
Three covers at 54 by 108 inches, the same footprint as the navy paper cover.
