A guest towel is not a large napkin. It is three-ply, it is folded to stand up on a counter, and it does not disintegrate when someone actually dries their hands with it. That is why they sit next to a sink rather than under a plate, and it is why forty-eight of them is a sane quantity for a house holding twenty people for six hours.
The three-ply construction is the fact worth paying for. A two-ply lunch napkin used as a hand towel shreds and leaves paper on wet hands; a three-ply towel takes the job and goes in the bin intact. Heavier stock per sheet than a napkin, because it is doing a different job.
The same Harvest Wishes pumpkin-and-leaf artwork runs on the oval dinner plates on this shelf, so the bathroom and the table can be told to match without a second purchase decision.
