Four and a half inches square fits a small envelope and a magnet on a refrigerator door, which is where an invitation actually lives between the day it arrives and the day of the shower. Square rather than rectangular is the detail guests notice without quite being able to name what they noticed.
This is the only piece on the shelf that leaves the house before the party. Sending a bumblebee invitation and then setting a bumblebee table is a small continuity most showers skip, and it is the reason to take the invitation from the same print rather than whatever is already in a drawer.
