Only a handful of teams carry a 24-count plastic cup pack on this shelf, Cincinnati among them. For every team that does not, cups have to come off the plain color shelf, and orange and black solids are the usual stand-in.
Plastic is the right material for a tailgate cup. It survives ice, condensation and four hours on an outdoor table, where a paper cup goes soft at the base and collapses when picked up by someone with cold hands.
Twenty-four cups is two each for twelve people. Outdoors, expect to lose more cups than indoors — anything set down on the ground or a truck gate is gone — so two each is the floor rather than the plan.
On the table
- Twenty-four plastic cups — the standard team cup pack on this shelf.
- Few teams here carry cups; the rest need plain ones.
- Plastic survives ice and four hours in the sun; paper does not.
- Two per person for twelve, and expect losses outdoors.
