The plate is printed to look like a vinyl record: black with a colored center label and the groove pattern running to the rim. It is a small joke that works better in person than in a photograph, because at a table full of small round black plates the effect reads immediately.
Dessert size, which is the correct format for a party built around music and dancing rather than a sit-down meal. Cake, a handful of something and a plate small enough to hold in one hand while the other is busy.
This is the only Birthday Beats piece here, so the rest of the table has to come from plain stock — black covers and a bright cutlery set from the color shelf finish the idea. A disco theme is one of the few that actually improves when the tableware is plain and the lighting does the work.
On the table
- Twenty-four dessert plates printed as vinyl records.
- The only Birthday Beats piece in the catalog.
- Dessert size — one-handed, for a party where people are standing.
- Pairs with plain black covers from the color shelf.
