Fifty-four by one hundred and two inches on a 6-foot table gives about fifteen inches of drop at the ends and twelve at the sides, which is the proportion that reads as dressed rather than merely covered. On a smaller kitchen table it can be folded under rather than trimmed.
Paper rather than plastic here, which means it is matte in photographs and will not throw light back at a camera flash — a genuine advantage at a birthday, where every second adult is photographing the cake. The trade is that a spilled drink goes through it.
Three to a pack. At a children’s party the second cover gets used more often than people expect: the first table is usually ruined by the time the cake comes out, and re-covering a table takes thirty seconds.
