The train range carries both a paper cover and this plastic one, and the choice between them is straightforward. Plastic beads a spill long enough to be lifted off; paper soaks it through onto whatever is underneath. At a party for children under five, that is not a close call.
The trade is that plastic has a slight sheen under a ceiling light or a camera flash, so a photographed table looks glossier than a paper-covered one. If the party is outdoors or the cake is being photographed, weigh that against the spill resistance.
Three to a pack, in the same friendly train artwork as the cups and the 48-count napkins. The listing calls them plastic built for easy disposal rather than for reuse — treat these as one-party covers.
